  • NTL - New Talisman Gold Mines Ltd

Good to see that even after ignoring official statements that there will be no pollution by mining at Talisman, the Council granting mining permits after a long, drawn out process and that the mine has been in existince for 130+ years, protestors are still throwing their toys out of the cot like spoilt little brats. No real surprises here!

Do they really put their own dogma and rhetoric before human life?

Maybe if they tried to work with the company and actually listened to what is going and left their echo chamber for a while they could achieve a win-win scenario. Must be too much to ask for though...

I use to be a Top 10 holder way back in the day. Never thought I'd see them mining for actual gold!

Finally, it's only taken how many years?

Any ideas as to how profitable this may be? Cheap shares on offer, just plenty of them! Worth a punt?

            Hi All
First post on this site. Aww...I'm blushing...don't be rough now!
My cut and paste skills aren't what they might be but Robbo24's posts on h/c are well worth a read on ntl. I'm in this up to my eyeballs. Do the maths on profits on JORC to market cap on gold alone (then add silver), then incrementally add the sp rerates as the sampling from different levels are drip fed through in the coming weeks/months. That's without the Rahu agreement next door. I have been accumulating for around 3 years and am now sitting just outside the top 20 shareholder list.
I don't wish to taint my first post on here by appearing to be a ramper but the next 3 to 4 months should see a massive rerate of the JORC if the historic grammes/tonne are anything to go by.
NOTE: Keep a close eye on the ntl.asx sp as is dual listed. When the Oz mining speculators wake up to it is when it'll take off

I don't think I've ever seen another mine with such massive grades. If you think the greenies are mad now you should see what happens if Rahu delivers big results and a JORC shows full-scale mining, not botique as is the current situation, is highly profitable!

High-risk, high-reward shares, but change in management, especially Matthew Hill, seems to have given this company the boot it needs to mine gold rather than shareholders. Good luck mate!

Yup, world leader in grades, and there are still 3 veins to go. Doubling your reserves overnight, especially on a single vein, is not something you see every day!

Still upside ahoy with those other results due to come out.

                      Are you back in Moosie?

I'm hoping they drip feed those JORC upgrades one by one for maximum effect. Disappointing close on the ASX (only up 57% ). Fully funded until at least 2020 and the likelihood of strong cashflow from the bulk sampling. Then there are the options that kick in at 2 cents with no sellers on the nzx!

I'll leave the guesswork to others as to whether I am in or not.

Just be patient and assess each one as it comes out. With those massive grades, where exactly can they go wrong? The JORC upgrades are a great FA uplift and will underpin the share price from now on. Highly doubt you'll see 0.5 cents again, unless they massively screw up!

I'll freely admit that I never really have been comfortable with mining and minerals businesses.

that being said, I think the NTL discovery is wonderful news for all concerned. Well done to shareholders. Wish I was one of them.

As a wise investor once said to me, "you can't kiss all the girls at once."

Guess you could combine that with the classic Buffett quote, "Never invest in a business you cannot understand".

I think the amalgamation of the 2 would be something along what your mother would say, "Don't kiss strange girls you know nothing about"!

Share price with the nice jump after the upgrade is currently delicately poised between fear and greed.....

Fear is the influence of the greenie brigade ( and this is a great election year issue ) - various regulatory bodies could change the rules or make new rules - it has happened before in the Coromandel.... http://www.stuff.co.nz/environment/9...d?cid=app-iPad

Greed is the further resource upgrades on the way which should (may....) propel the share price higher.

robbo24 has a good handle on this company but seems much more verbose on HC - the HC historical thread gives you valuable info if you want to follow this company.

My personal preference with this sort of share is if I've got my purchasing right I tend to sell a portion of my holding to lock in gains - I'm never going to make max profit but I'm not heading for the streets either. ( and the streets look pretty cold and unappealing at the mo....)
